SUB-COMMITTEES

HFHCA has various sub-committees that liaise with the HFHCA board of directors that are primarily comprised of volunteer families from the community. For example, there is a fredkid FAIR sub-committee that is responsible for the organization and execution of the FAIR.

Sub-committees meet on an as-needed basis and report back to the board.

Info on Board Members

Lori grew up in Toronto, and moved to Fredericton in 2003, after her husband convinced her that Fredericton was a great place to live and a great place to raise a family. He was right! To move here, Lori left a sales management position at a prominent mutual fund company. She and her husband have two daughters. Currently a full-time Mom, Lori got involved with HFHCA and fredkid.com because of her strong belief that parents have such an important role to play in the development of children and communities.

Sarah moved from Vancouver to Fredericton three years ago.  Being involved with fredkid and HFHCA has been one of the greatest gifts to her and her family as they were immediately connected with other passionate and intentional families in the Fredericton community.  Sarah's background is in education, with an emphasis on curriculum and instruction.  She worked for HFHCA for the past 3 years as the Executive Director and currently works as a Community Developer for Queens North Community Health Centre.  Sarah loves to spend time with her three kids, her husband and the outdoors.

Aron was looking for adventure and Maritime spirit when he moved across Canada from BC in 2006.  Coming with his wife Sarah and two kids Jabin and Tianna he joined the physician community in Fredericton.  Soon he was swept up into the excitment of fredkid.com and HFHCA.  As a board member he currently fills the role of treasurer and in the background serves as a soundboard for Sarah's never ending stream of ideas.

Andy grew up in here in Fredericton. After graduating from FHS, he moved to Sackville, NB (Mount Allison University), then Vancouver, BC (UBC Law School) and finally Halifax, NS (where he worked as a lawyer) before returning home in June 2007 with his wife Shelley and their two children, Alexandra and Gabriel.  Andy is VP, Legal Affairs of Canadian International Capital Inc., an immigration and investment services company.  He thinks Fredericton is the best place in the world to raise a family and couldn't be happier to be back living, working, and playing here in 'Freddy Beach'.

Adhir works at the Fredericton office of SkillSoft corporation, an American multinational, as subject matter expert and content reviewer. He is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and an accredited management consultant. He came to Canada in 2003 as an international student to earn his second MBA in Management Consulting from Saint Mary's University in Halifax, and could not resist a job offer in Fredericton and the charm of staying in the heart of Atlantic Canada and in the city that he dubs as the safest place to live and raise family in Canada. When his wife Reena and 5-year old son Aru joined him later in Fredericton, fredkid.com and the annual fredkid fair were the platforms that he found most useful for the newcomers like him to connect with local families and events. The spirit and zeal of the team HFHCA of giving back to community and making a difference were the reasons he joined the board.

Jenn Bent Richard

Meghan
has been involved with Fredkid for the past 2 years, volunteering with the Fredkid fair and the learning series committees, and is pleased to now be a member of the board of HFHCA.  Meghan grew up in Fredericton and, after a working holiday in Australia followed by three years in Halifax studying physiotherapy, returned to her hometown to raise a family and give back to the community that raised her.  Currently working part-time as a physiotherapist at the Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation, she spends the rest of her time with her husband and two daughters.  Meghan believes in the mandate of HFHCA and is honoured to be part of a board of strong visionaries making Fredericton and Saint John better places to live.

Melissa is mom to Ella Marie, partner to Jeff and the trio are currently expecting their second child. Melissa has an Education and Science degree and is currently completing her Certified Management Accounting designation, while working as a Senior Financial Advisor for the department of Finance.  The impact and support fredkid.com provided her when her daughter was born spurned her to action.  She wanted to assist in offering that same lifeline to other new families in Fredericton.   HFHCA fills a void in this wonderful city and Melissa couldn’t be happier being a part of it!
